Fremont, CA is a city in Alameda County, and was incorporated on January 23, 1956, from the merger of five smaller communities: Centerville (94536), Niles (94536), Irvington (94538), Mission San Jose (94539), and Warm Springs (94539).
Fremont is the 14th largest city in California. The city is home to 200,000 inhabitants. Fremont is part of the combined metropolitan areas of San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland, which has a population of about 7 million people. The town is located in the southeast section of the San Francisco Bay Area., and is the closest Alameda County city to Silicon Valley; therefore sometimes associated with it. Fremont is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the Bay Area. The residents of Fremont are highly educated with high-paying jobs in a variety of business sectors.
